Terms of Service
The agreement that governs your use of Praktum.
Last updated: October 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of praktum.com and the Praktum platform (the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you use the Services on behalf of a school or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. A signed order form or master agreement with Praktum takes precedence over these Terms where they conflict.
2. The services
Praktum provides software for vocational and CDL schools, including student management, AI-driven risk insights and interventions, scheduling, payments, communications, curriculum hosting, and compliance reporting. We may improve and modify features over time and will not materially reduce core functionality during a paid subscription term.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential, for all activity under your accounts, and for ensuring that users you invite comply with these Terms. Notify us promptly at team@praktum.com of any unauthorized use.
4. Subscriptions, trials, and fees
Plans are billed monthly unless otherwise agreed. Current list pricing is Starter at $90 per month (up to 30 students), Professional at $375 per month (up to 120 students), and custom Enterprise pricing for larger schools. Free trials last 30 days and require no credit card. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or stated in your order. There are no long-term contracts or setup fees on standard plans; you may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period.
5. Customer data
Your school owns all data you upload or create in the Services ("Customer Data"). You grant Praktum a limited license to process Customer Data solely to provide and improve the Services, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the rights and consents needed to provide Customer Data, including obligations under FERPA and state law.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or other customers' data.
- Reverse engineer, resell, or sublicense the Services except as permitted.
- Upload malicious code or interfere with the Services' operation.
- Submit false information in reports generated for government agencies.
7. AI features
Risk scores and recommendations are decision-support tools. They are designed to help staff prioritize outreach and do not replace professional judgment. Your school remains responsible for decisions made about students.
8. Compliance reporting
Praktum automates preparation and submission of reports, such as ELDT records to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry, based on data your school records. You are responsible for the accuracy of that underlying data and for reviewing submissions as required by applicable regulations.
9. Intellectual property
Praktum and its licensors own the Services, including software, curriculum content, designs, and trademarks. Except for the rights expressly granted, no rights are transferred to you. Feedback you provide may be used to improve the Services without obligation.
10. Availability and support
We target 99.9% monthly uptime, excluding scheduled maintenance. Support levels depend on your plan: email for Starter, priority phone for Professional, and dedicated 24/7 support for Enterprise.
11. Warranties and disclaimers
We warrant that the Services will perform materially as described. Otherwise, the Services are provided "as is," and to the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Praktum does not guarantee specific enrollment, retention, or graduation outcomes.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and Praktum's total liability arising from the Services will not exceed the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
13. Termination
You may cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms that is not cured within 30 days of notice, or immediately where required to protect the Services or other customers. On termination you may export your Customer Data for 30 days.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Haven County, Connecticut.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in advance by email or in the platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
